Mozart - Rondo Alla Turca

I bought a copy of the sheet music for this piece then input the notes into Sibelius. A MIDI file was then exported from Sibelius and imported into Reason. From there I added a couple of effects and tweaked the MIDI data a little bit. The pics are scanned copies of the sheet music set to a transparent Mozart background.

this is just the vocal score, it doesn't have any silences or rests Mozart's final completed sacred work was written on 17 June 1791, for the feast of Corpus Christi at the request of Anton Stoll, choirmaster at Baden where Mozart was visiting with his wife Constanze. Hail the true body, born of the Virgin Mary: You who truly suffered and were sacrificed on the cross for the sake of man. From whose pierced flank flowed water and blood: Be a foretaste for us in the trial of death. Salve, verdadero cuerpo, nacido de María Virgen, que fue inmolado en la cruz por los hombres, cuyo lado perforado manó sangre y agua, dejanos degustarte en el trance de la muerte. Mozart Requiem Mass in D Minor VI - Confutatis and Lacrimosa

John Eliot Gardiner conducts the English Baroque Soloists and the Monteverdi Choir. This performance was filmed at the Palau de la Musica Catalana, Barcelona in Dec. 1991. A Requiem Mass in the Roman Catholic tradition is a service designed to pray for the souls of the departed. The parts of the liturgy that are meant to be sung are what constitute all Requiem Mass compositions, including Mozart's. The structure is as follows: 1. Introit 2. Kyrie 3. Sequence: a. Dies irae b. Tuba mirum c. Rex tremendae d. Recordare e. Confutatis f. Lacrimosa 4. Offertory: a. Domine Jesu Christe b. Hostias 5. Sanctus 6. Benedictus 7. Agnus Dei 8. Lux Aeterna Mozart died before finishing the Requiem Mass, and his wife Constanze gave the task of finishing the work to a pupil of Mozart's named Süssmayr. From the Sanctus onward, the Requiem is the creation of Süssmayr, though he did use portions of the Introit and Kyrie for the Lux Aeterna. Despite, or maybe partially because of, the controversy surrounding this Requiem Mass, it is widely regarded as Mozart's greatest masterpiece. Latin Lyrics and English translation follow: CONFUTATIS Confutatis maledictis, When the damned are cast away Flammis acribus addictis, and consigned to the searing flames, Voca me cum benedictus. call me to be with the blessed. Oro supplex et acclinis, Bowed down in supplication I beseech Thee, Cor contritum quasi cinis: my heart as though ground to ashes: Gere curam mei finis. Help me in my final hour. LACRIMOSA Lacrimosa dies illa, O this day full of tears, Qua resurget ex favilla. when from the ashes arises Iudicandus homo reus: guilty man to be judged: Huic ergo parce, Deus. O Lord, have mercy upon him! Pie Jesu Domine, Gentle Lord Jesus, Dona eis requiem. Amen. grant them eternal rest. Amen.

Mozart Symphony 41 K 551 - Molto Allegro

Woody Allen once said that Mozart's Symphony 41 proved the existence of God. Certainly, a symphony of such grandness and scale had, until the summer of 1788, never before been seen in the musical universe. Its implications for the direction of music in the future, and its influence on future composers is immeasurable. What makes Mozart's Jupiter symphony worthy to share the name of the most powerful god of the Roman world? The answer to this question comes in the Molto Allegro, and more specifically in its coda, (8:09-8:36). In the coda, Mozart takes the five musical themes or melodies that had been developed throughout the final movement, and does something that no one has ever achieved to the extent that he did, not even the illustrious Beethoven. What Mozart does is take these five themes and combines them to create a fugato in five-part counterpoint. That is, he takes the five melodies and simultaneously plays them in a variety of combinations and permutations. Imagine five separate melodies, all with their own notes, being played simultaneously, but each constantly changing. It's impossible for the human ear to focus on the enormous amount of notes that this simultaneous playing and constant changing entails. The effect is that the music seems to encompass an infinite amount of sound. With lesser two or three-part fugues, it is occasionally possible to sense everything that is going on. Once you get to four voices, it's nearly impossible to detect all of the nuances of the melodies. With five, well, only God could completely grasp its profundity. This is Jeffrey Tate and the English Chamber Orchestra performing the Molto Allegro of Mozart's Symphony 41 in C Major. A far greater introduction to this piece than I provide can be found at NPR's website, if you follow this link: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5173337 In the audio clip, you will get the chance to hear the five melodies that Mozart used in the coda individually.
