no...you must have something crazy...Chanchulo is the second album of Rubén González. Buena Vista Social Club is just one and only album. And this song calls indeed BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB. You have the wrong Cd's or something.

There is nothing wrong with Ry's guitar, it indeed gives it a great touch and a wider emotional dimension. Accompaniments like that are usually done with the bass or violins, but they are done for sure. The fact that he uses an electric guitar is irrelevant, if not even better.

This musicians know what they're are doing, this guitarist isn't making nonesenses there, if he plays there there is a reason for that

  17. VALERIE Says: November 22nd, 2008 at 16:09:37

  18. Lisandra Says: November 22nd, 2008 at 16:32:36

Does anyone know the name of this song? It doesn't appear to be on the Buena Vista Social Club CD called " Chanchillo " which is supposed to be from the songs from the DVD by Ruben Gonzales - but it isn't ! They also miss out the song "Chan Chan" on the 2 CD's I have. The other CD I have is " Ibrahim Ferrer " I find this annoying because the CDs I have miss out some of the best songs. Why did Ry Cooder do this?
  19. DEV Says: November 22nd, 2008 at 16:55:35

it does give the song its sadness, but it could have been a bit softer. Maybe he's playing a bit to loud and is getting to dominant by that.

  21. BRINA Says: November 22nd, 2008 at 17:41:33
