Ruben, sale de la politica, caballero, lo tuyo es cantar y componer...nada mas. Saludos de un venezolano en el mundo.

Regardless of what's popular, I find comfort in the knowledge that the future of art belongs to the true artists. Anybody remember the Lambada?

salsa symphony, too sophisticated, ruben before his era, wow, feels good to be latino and listen this song in a shore bar in a tropical island in the panamanian caribean.....

Thank you alfredgomez and miranda! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks reggaeton is bullshit. Just as big as an embarassment to Latin music as macarena, Gloria Estefan and merengue hip-hop.
  15. Alicyn Says: November 22nd, 2008 at 15:18:30

damn right complexity is best. People who do reggaeton take the easy way out when it comes to music. they don't even use instruments, just a shitty computer with the beats in it. how hard is that? reggaeton is a plague!

  21. AHRIMAN Says: November 22nd, 2008 at 17:36:24

Absolutely. Latin music must dump that Reggaeton crap and get back to this. Complexity is best!

It tells the story of loneliness and private pain- even though you might not display it outwardly to others. Listen to the section of this song when Ruben's voice "mourns".... he does this 'musically' in a number of his songs... this clip somewhat shows it- you really hear it on the recorded version. The song, Tiburon is another example of him doing this really well. Ruben's music mirrors his his stories of everyday people living life & reacting to circumstances through the choices they make.
