I hope the league will create more new teams. I think Okinawa, Matsuyama, Osaka, Nagano, Kyoto, and Niigata should get teams.... because I think just having 12 teams is too few....

its a whole different game... and a whole different part of there culture... aparntly the japanese koshin is the most watched televised event in all of japan (kind of like our college basket ball tourny) they also won the WBC or World Baseball classic. there stiles and play mentality are much different then that of american players.

I would love to go to Japan to catch some games. I here baseball is getting big in Australia. Don't matter what country they play it, baseball is truly a beautiful sport.

id say bseball is doing better in the USA than you think. Hockey and basketball are both dieing much faster and I think the negative advertising of steroids has actually driven more people to follow the sport a good way to tell fan interest is to watch espn analysts talk about sports since they are ridiculously biased towards the more popular sports (Baseball tonight is way better than the NBA version.)
  15. Jolleen Says: January 8th, 2009 at 10:39:07

It's sad that baseball is dying here in the usa, Football has become the top american sport and Baseball has too many problems to regian it. steriods is one of them, the absence of a salary cap which gives an unfair adavnatge to big market teams like new york, boston, and l.a.; another problem is that only 8 teams go to the playoffs, they should have it expanded to 12 like the nfl so more teams get in which would increse revene for the league. I wish baseball here would be like japanese baseball
