In truth Moz has a fine bassoon cto that you should hear!!! It was actually the flute that he despised. His arm was oft twisted to create works for the flute, even for this cto.

I'm not an idiot. I've played this piece but if you wouldnt mind looking at 7:45 i believe that brown object is called a bassoon hence why i asked whats with the bassoon? theres no bassoon part..
  12. MAXWELL Says: January 8th, 2009 at 14:36:49

There's no bassoon in this piece. The instrumentation is strings, 2 oboes, 2 horns, and the principal oboe. Guess Mozart doesn't like bassoon. lol

  19. Clarissa Says: January 8th, 2009 at 17:17:42

But everyone knows it sounds better on the oboe. The flute sounds like a knock off of the golden oboe version.

  21. BEDNAR Says: January 8th, 2009 at 18:03:40

ok.. Well that sounds plausible enough, thanks for looking it up!
  23. Lutz Says: January 8th, 2009 at 18:49:38

Well, actually mozart really intended it to be for flute but the person who he originally wrote it for never paid mozart the money for him wirting the concerto so he composed it for oboe and then he decided to transcripe it for flute in the end..and I read this in an article I found.
  24. ABDEL Says: January 8th, 2009 at 19:12:37

Yes, that is what most people say (mostly oboists), but my oboe teacher always said that it isn't clear in which order mozart did the oboe and the flute versions, and that also most flutists say the flute version was first. But maybe i'm wrong and the debate is already settled, i don't know.
  25. Boell Says: January 8th, 2009 at 19:35:36

Mozart originally wrote this for Oboe..but he decided to rewrite for flute but in a differen't key. I hope that anwsers your question
