I probably will get slammed for this but Heinz Holliger is probably the best oboe player yet.

In my opinion, this interpretation is probably one of the most stylistically accurate and well phrased pertaining to this piece. The agility of his ornamentation and runs along with his pert staccati are comparable to that of John de Lancie. Holliger's finessed lyricism is one of his most notable attributes. For those who comment on Mr. Holliger's timbre, one should take in account that timbre is subjective and is always well received if the craft and the proper technique are present.

Hey guys...it`s very important for me to know how this concerto is called exactly. I`m playing the Oboe for 9 years and i want to buy and play this concerto and maybe to play the solo on a concert. So how is it called or which number does this concerto by mozart have?
  13. BARNUM Says: January 8th, 2009 at 11:24:13

wow people don't take your criticism well huh? lol anyways, i wouldn't say that the tone was "harsh" necessarily, but maybe a bit bright. This of course, is just a tiny opinion standing on top of an already amazing performance.

I love the oboe. It sounds like golden honey, especially in this fabulous concerto.
  22. PAKUNA Says: January 8th, 2009 at 14:51:04

This guy needs to have a nice, sweeter tone. It is too harsh for my taste. Everything else was great.

    Wow, incredible!!!!!
  24. POPPY Says: January 8th, 2009 at 15:37:02

It's my All-State Honor Band try out piece. Being someone who has only played the oboe for 3 years now, it is very difficult.
